HOW TO USE
How to Use the 5.5' x 10' Carry-On Utility Trailer
This versatile 5.5’ x 10’ utility trailer is great for hauling furniture, appliances, lawn equipment, trash, small construction materials, and more. Here’s how to use it safely and effectively:
β Step 1: Hook Up the Trailer
- Ensure your tow vehicle has a 2” ball hitch and a working 4-way flat plug for lights.
- Back your vehicle up slowly and lower the trailer coupler onto the hitch ball.
- Lock the coupler and secure the safety chains in a crisscross pattern.
- Plug in the light connector and check that brake lights and turn signals work properly.
β Step 2: Load Your Items
- Distribute weight evenly from front to back and side to side.
- Place heavier items over the axle(center of the trailer).
- Use ratchet straps or tie-downs to secure your load to the D-rings or railings.
- Avoid stacking too high—stay below the trailer’s side rail height.
β Step 3: Drive with Caution
- Drive below the speed limit(especially on curves and hills).
- Allow extra stopping distance—trailers add weight!
- Take wide turns and avoid sudden lane changes.
β Step 4: Unload Safely
- Park on level ground.
- Use ramps (if available) for heavy wheeled items.
- Remove all straps before unloading.
Important Tips:
- Max load capacity: Approx. 1,500–2,000 lbs (check sticker for exact rating).
- Make sure your vehicle can handle the load.
- Do not overload the trailer or tow over capacity.
- We are not responsible for your vehicle.
